The capital of this district is Tansen. This district is one of the 77 districts of Nepal and is also one of the districts of Lumbini Province.
Our Palpa district is famous throughout Nepal for its Dhaka cloth. The main occupation in this district is agriculture, which produces various types of vegetables along with various grain crops.

My birthplace is Gulmi district and while traveling through this district, I have seen many places where I find Palpa to be a very pleasant place for its beauty along with organic produce. The various religious and tourist places here have their own importance.

Palpa Famous Place | Attraction of Palpa
Forts :-
Among the many places where the kings fought to save their kingdom, Kalika Fort, Nuwakot Fort and Bakumgadhi Fort in Palpa district are places of historical attraction. Through these forts, the kings protected their districts and kingdoms at that time. Nuwakot Fort, located close to Butwal Bazaar, has become a center of attraction for domestic tourists today. Where, with the establishment of the Siddhartha Cable Car, it has become a center of attraction for both domestic and foreign tourists.
Mahamritunjaya Statue :-
of Lord Shiva situated at Barangdi which is the biggest in Asia among metal statue of Lord Shiva.
Rambha Devi Temple :-
This famous Hindu temple is located in the Palpa district of Nepal. Renowned for its religious significance and beautiful, serene atmosphere, it attracts visitors seeking the goddess’s blessings and a sense of peace. It often serves as a special site for local festivals and worship. The religious site is located 31 kilometers east of Tansen.
Ramdi :-
This place itself is a very sacred place for Hindus, a big fair is held every Baisakh 1st. There is also a tradition of cremation here according to Hindu tradition. Even if the deceased has migrated to different places including Palpa, the bodies of relatives are brought here and cremated.
Rani Mahal Palpa (Ranighat Palace, Ranimahal) :-
Is also called Tajmahal of Nepal due to similar stories behind the construction of this palace. It was constructed by General Khadka for her wife Tejkumari in 1893 AD.
Rishikesh Temple :-
The religious place of all of hindus or us, Rishikesh Temple, is located in Palpa district, at the confluence of three districts. This temple was built by King Manimukunda Sen. According to Hindu mythology, this is the place where some parts of Sati Devi’s body were burned. A big fair is held here every year in the month of Magh. There is a religious tradition that bathing here during that time washes away sins.
Shrinagar Hill :-
If you want to see and enjoy the mountains that are close to our hearts but physically far away, then Srinagar is a great place to visit. From here, you can see Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Nilgiri, Annapurna, Himachali and other mountains.
Tansen :-
Tansen, or the capital, is the seat of various kings. Tansen Bazaar is a historic city rich in nature, with palaces, temples, stupas, and historical architecture.

Bhairavsthan Temple :-
According to information, Bhairavsthan Temple is considered to be the largest temple with a trident in Asia. The religious significance of this temple is very significant in itself. Devotees from various parts of Nepal and India come to visit this temple.
Siddha Baba Temple :-
Siddha Baba ( Siddhababa Temple ) Temple is a famous religious and spiritual place located in the Palpa region of Nepal. This temple is located on a hillock along the Butwal-Tansen road, from where the surrounding view is very beautiful. Siddha Baba Temple is a center of common faith for Hindu and Buddhist followers. It is believed that visiting here will fulfill your wishes. The crowd of devotees is more on Mondays, Ekadashi and Purnima.
Madanpokhara :-
Madan Pokhara is a very charming valley-like region. From the top of this area it looks very charming. This area is considered very famous for producing various grains and vegetables.
